Bruce Willis' family share heartbreaking video of actor holding daughter's hand
Bruce Willis’ family has continued to share the difficult journey they are facing with the actor, who has frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
Over the Thanksgiving period this year, Bruce Willis‘ daughter Scout shared a video on her social media page showing her dad’s heartbreaking progression with dementia. His family, including his wife Emma, have been very open about the Hollywood icon’s conditions and the effect that it is having on them.

In the video, Scout, 32, one of his daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore, can be seen sitting next to her dad smiling as she holds his hand, which can be seen shaking, while he looks away from the camera.
Effects of the aphasia mean that the celebrity struggles to communicate verbally. The life expectancy of someone with Bruce Willis’ kind of dementia is less than a decade and can be as low as two years.
“Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good,” a source recently said.

The insider continued the experience has brought his family “even closer,” including his ex-wife, Demi Moore.
“This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him.
“They’re all there all the time,” another source said.
The first said: “Once Bruce was diagnosed, everyone came together to keep his memory of the family intact and to be there as a constant reminder [that they] love him. [Everything] revolves around him.” Adds the first source: “Bruce has around-the-clock care, but at least one family member is always with him.”
Tallulah ‘proud to be his daughter’
Other members of the family have shared their own feelings about the movie star’s journey.
Tallulah, Scout’s older sister, shared pictures of and with the 68-year-old recently and penned an emotional message.
She wrote on her Instagram: “Damn, these photos are hitting tonight. You’re my whole damn heart, and I’m so proud to be your Tallulah Belle Bruce Willis.”
Fans wrote heartfelt comments under the post, with some sharing their own heartbreaking stories.
One person penned: “I’m going through something not too dissimilar with my father, and sometimes it is tough to look back on the past, but just remember how great it was.”
Another said: “I don’t have a relationship with my dad, I learned he had dementia in 2019. I love seeing your family grow and come together in love for your father. Give him a hug from me.”

Bruce is no longer ‘totally verbal’
The creator of hit TV series Moonlighting, which made Bruce a household name, said although he is “still Bruce” his “joie de vivre” has gone.
“My sense is the first one to three minutes he knows who I am. He’s not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader – he didn’t want anyone to know that – and he’s not reading now.
“When you’re with him, you know that he’s Bruce, and you’re grateful that he’s there, but the joie de vivre is gone.”
