He played Brett Craig in the Australian comedy classic Kath & Kim.

Now, Peter Rowsthorn has revealed the sitcom's lead stars Jane Turner and Gina Riley - who played Kath Day-Knight and Kim Craig - used 'stunt bums' in nude scenes on the show.

The 57-year-old, who played Kim's husband Brett, told News.com.au that Jane and Gina had nude body doubles stand in for them - unlike himself and co-star Glenn Robbins, who played Kel Knight.

Peter said: 'Glenn and I used our natural a****', but they (Jane and Gina) used "stunt bums".

'Glenn will get his a*** out for anything, he loves getting his a*** out,' he added.

Peter explained that when doing nude scenes, he and Glenn would have to put their genitals in a pouch which was then stuck to their bodies. 

He also recalled one particular scene that went horribly wrong and left him 'humiliated'.

'There was a little bridge nearby and a crowd gathered and could see in the backyard as I was standing nude with my d**k and balls in a pouch and they were cheering. There was no sheet to cover me, nothing – just humiliation,' Peter said.  

Kath and Kim follows the antics of the mother suburban baby boomer Kath Day-Knight, and her self-indulgent daughter Kim Craig.

The show starred Magda Szubanski, as Kim's 'second best friend,' Sharon Strzelecki.

The comedy ran from 2002 to 2007 and also had a telemovie in 2005, called the Da Kath & Kim Code.

It was followed by a feature film in 2012 called Kath and Kimderella.

Kath and Kim is available to stream in Australia on Netflix.
