Robert De Niro's daughter 'doesn't know how to live' after son's tragic passing

Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez has sadly died at the age of 19. The news was announced by his mother, Drena De Niro via an Instagram post on Sunday night.
Leandro was the son of artist, Carlos Mare and Robert’s eldest child Drena De Niro. Robert De Niro adopted Drena after his marriage to her mother, Diahnne Abbott. At the time of writing, the 19-year-olds cause of death has not been confirmed.

The sad news of Leandro’s death was announced via his Mother’s Instagram, where she shared an emotional tribute message to her late son. In the post she wrote:
“My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly.”
“You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you.
“I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama,” she continued.
His father Carlos, also commented on the post, writing:
“My dear Drena… words aren’t enough to express the joy he gave us or the loss we now endure with our families and friends. He is Godschild now. 🙏🏼 On this full moon his spirit luminates what could not be seen in the dark. You can’t spell LOVE without LEO.”
On his own page, he posted a simple black square with no caption.
Tributes pour in for Leandro De Niro Rodriguez
Fans and celebrities took to the comments of Drena’s emotional post to share their tributes after learning Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro, had sadly died.
Bravo’s Andy Cohen wrote: “I just saw him a few weeks ago – we walked together for a few blocks. So tall and handsome like a supermodel. Heartbroken. Sending so much love.”
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, who recently had her second child also took to the post to share her tributes, as she wrote:
“Drena heartbroken for you, such a Duo, I can’t imagine how you must feel, May the lord cover you and hold you in his arms, at this very sad time and loss. I love you, always here for you.”
Leandro was a budding actor
Before his untimely death, Leandro starred in a number of movies, most notably, A Star is Born in 2018, where he played Leo Stone, alongside Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
In the same year, he also appeared in the blockbuster Cabaret Maxime. His first on-screen appearance came in 2005, in The Collection.
The star was following in the acting footsteps of his grandfather and mother, who also starred in A Star is Born.
